The EVEE project
See what
your ride sees.
EVEE is an open telemetry platform for personal electric vehicles — boards, bikes, scooters, anything with an ESC and a battery. Its first edition, ESK8OS, is built for electric skateboards: it reads your VESC a dozen times a second and turns it into a dashboard you can trust.

Firmware, hardware and companion
The board works on its own. The companion adds another view. Together, they connect what your vehicle felt with where you rode.
Firmware
Live VESC telemetry, loaded battery voltage, learned range and session logs. ESK8OS is the electric-skateboard edition.

Battery telemetry and ride logs
A resting voltage cannot tell the whole story. EVEE watches the pack under load, tracks sag and learns from actual consumption. With a supported Daly smart BMS, it can watch individual cells and protection states too.
- See the load
- Loaded voltage, current and temperatures while the vehicle is running.
- Keep the evidence
- On-board session CSVs and event records for reviewing a sag, dropout or pack cutoff.
- Understand the source
- VESC configuration stays authoritative. Wheel calibration and display preferences remain yours.

FAQ
The questions riders actually ask.
Does EVEE control the motors?
Dashboard mode reads telemetry. It does not command motor current, duty or cutoffs; its normal ESC write is the odometer. Deliberate bridge mode passes official VESC Tool traffic through for configuration, and should only be entered while stopped.
Do I need to keep a phone connected?
The firmware runs on the vehicle: telemetry, logging, battery learning and supported display functions work without the phone. The Android companion adds GPS recording, maps and ride playback. A headless build uses the phone when you want to see its dashboard.
Can I record a ride without EVEE hardware?
The Android companion can record a phone GPS ride without a board connection. Board speed, power, battery and BMS data need compatible connected hardware.
Where do I start?
Read the manual, choose the display or headless build, then follow the wiring and first-boot steps. Keep actual motor and battery configuration in official VESC Tool.
